Cezeri Green Technology Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School

We would like to thank Mustafa Aydın, who is the  director of Cezeri Green Technology Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, and the instructors for their interest during our visit.

2.Şanlıurfa:

Şanlıurfa Karaköprü Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School

We made the sixth NEXT-GEN project visit to Şanlıurfa Karaköprü Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School. We completed our surveys, energy audit and measurements. We included the students Bakır Barış Atay, and Atilla Şil as Young Leader of Şanlıurfa in our project. We would like to thank Muhammet Sami Yıldırım, Gökhan Özdemir ve Mehmmet Bazoğlu who supported us from the very beginning, Mustafa Kızmaz who is the director of the school, and school staff.

Şanlıurfa Municipality

We exchanged our ideas with Mahmut Kırıkçı who is the Secretary-General of the Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality and Eyyub Ural who is the deputy director-general of the Şanbel Enerji A.Ş about the establishment of the Energy Efficiency Unit and the ISO 50001 System. The necessity of starting Energy Efficiency in Agriculture studies, which is very important for the region, was expressed by municipal representatives.

Şanlıurfa Provincial Directorate of National Education

We visited İsmail Yapıcıer, who is the Provincial Director of National Education in Şanlıurfa,and shared information about  NEXT-GEN project with Mehmet Bazoğlu and Eyyub Ural who are the project stakeholders in Şanlıurfa. We thanked them for their support.

ŞANBEL Enerji A.Ş.

As the NEXT-GEN team, we visited our project stakeholder Şanbel Enerji A.Ş. We talked to İbrahim Kaymaz, who is the General Manager, Eyyub Ural, who is the Deputy General Manager, and Esra Vert, who is an engineer in the Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality R&D Department, about the projects that can be carried out in the short and medium-term in Şanlıurfa.

3.Gaziantep:

Gaziantep Kanuni Sultan Süleyman Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School

We made the seventh NEXT-GEN project visit to Gaziantep Kanuni Sultan Süleyman Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School. We completed our surveys, energy audit and measurements. We included Mustafa Kan, and Emrecan Kaçar as Young Leaders of Gaziantep in our project. We would like to thank Metin Özcan, Deniz Polat ve Sait Sungur who supported us from the very beginning, Mehmet Suat Güzel who is the director of the school, and school staff.

Gaziantep Provincial Directorate of National Education

We explained the NEXT-GEN project to İbrahim Necip Kafadar, who is the Gaziantep Provincial Deputy Director of National Education of Gaziantep. We would like to thank Mr. Kafadar for sharing his ideas that can be further included to the project and support.

Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality

We evaluated the developments regarding our project with Ayşegül Tekerekoğlu, who is Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Renewable Energy Management Branch Manager, and Merve Özkara Demirkaya, who is an Energy Systems Engineer in the same department.

4.Kilis:

Kilis Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School

We made the eighth NEXT-GEN project visit to Kilis Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School. Due to having the highest number of buildings in this pilot school, a large group of students supported us throughout the day in surveys, energy audits and measurements. We included the students M. Celal Sarıca, Samet Çakmak, and Ökkeş Karakuş as Young Leaders of Kilis for our project. We would like to thank Mümin Melih Özel, ve Mustafa Yarımağa who supported us from the very beginning, Ziya Talay who is the director of the school, and school staff.

Kilis Provincial Directorate of National Education

We explained the details of the NEXT-GEN project to Mr. Ömer Faruk Alan, who is the Director of Kilis Provincial National Education, in his office and we would like to thank him for his support.

Kilis Municipality

We made a very productive visit to the Kilis Municipality, one of our NEXT-GEN stakeholder municipalities. We evaluated the work done so far with Servet Ramazan who is the Deputy Mayor of Kilis Municipality is, Yusuf Türkoğlu, and Adem Ekinci. We have exchanged our ideas on the establishment of the Energy Efficiency Unit in the municipality, the initiation of the ISO 50001 process, and the operational and maintenance work that can be carried out in municipal stakeholders.

5.Kahramanmaraş:

Kahramanmaraş Şehit İdari Ataşe Galip Özmen Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School

We made the ninth NEXT-GEN project visit to Kahramanmaraş Şehit İdari Ataşe Galip Özmen Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School. We completed our surveys, energy audit and measurements. We included the students Burak Can Yılmaz, Abuzer Talip Taşçı, Mustafa Aras, and Yağmur Güneş as Young Leaders of Kahramanmaraş in our project. We would like to thank Tuncay Ceylan and Harun Kantar who supported us from the very beginning, Halil İbrahim Çolakkadı who is the director of the school, and school staff.

Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan Municipality

We discussed with Oğuzhan Örer, who is the Director of R&D and Energy Management Branch of Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan Municipality and Erdoğan Emrah Hatunoğlu, who is head of the External Affairs Department, about the future implications inKahramanmaraş. We evaluated our project with Özgün Gönen, who is the Energy Management Chief, and Muhammed Miraç Aslan, who is the Smart City Coordinator.

Kahramanmaraş Provincial Directorate of National Education

We visited Cemal Yılmaz, who is Kahramanmaraş Provincial Director of National Education, and explained NEXT-GEN project together with Yusuf Kevkir, who is the project stakeholder in Kahramanmaraş. We thank them for their support.

6.Adıyaman:

Adıyaman Mimar Sinan Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School

We made the last NEXT-GEN project visit to Adıyaman Mimar Sinan Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School. We completed our surveys, energy audit and measurements. We included the students Umut Cem Büyükşan, Haydar Göler, and Samet Emir Can as Young Leaders of Adıyaman for our project. We would like to thank Aziz Canbeg, Mehmet Fatih Güneri, and Tayfun Polat who supported us from the very beginning, Mehmet Kuruş who is the  director of the school, and school staff.

Adıyaman Provincial Directorate of National Education

We conveyed our NEXT-GEN project to Ahmet Alagöz, who is Adıyaman Provincial Director of National Education. We discussed about successful energy-efficient projects they carried out in Adıyaman with Mehmet Altındal and Kazım Çoban who are Adıyaman Deputy Provincial Directorates of National Education and Next Gen project stakeholder Mahmut Küçük from the Construction Real Estate Unit. 

Adıyaman Manucipality

We had a meeting with Dr. Süleyman Kılınç who is the Mayor of Adıyaman, Mithat Töke who is the Deputy Mayor of Adıyaman, representatives of Provincial Directorate of National Education, and Next Gen project stakeholders from Adıyaman Mimar Sinan Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School. Short-term projects, Energy Efficiency Unit, and ISO 50001 Management processes were explained and discussed.

SITE VISITS- 1

1.Diyarbakır

Diyarbakir Vocational and Technical Anatolian School

We made the first NEXT-GEN project visit to Diyarbakır Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School. We completed our surveys, energy audit and measurements. We included the student Ali Berkay Anbar as the Young Leader of Diyarbakır in our project. We would like to thank Ahmet Taylan, Enver Şenel and Murat Zirek, who supported us from the very beginning, Oktay Balıkçı who is the director of the school, and relevant school staff.

2.Batman

Cumhuriyet Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School

We made the second NEXT-GEN project visit to Batman Cumhuriyet Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School. We completed our surveys, energy audit and measurements. We have included the students Mustafa Gündüz and Bestan Bülbül as the Young Leaders of Batman in our project. We would like to thank Tenzile Bilen, Mehmet Derse, Murat Yelin ve Zülfi Tosun, who supported us from the very beginning, Halef Akgün who director of the school, and school staffs.

Batman Municipality

We made our visit to Batman Municipality accompanied by Deputy Mayor Mehmet Zeki Hedekoğlu, representatives of the Department of Public Works and Engineering, Department of Urban Planning, and BASKİ (Batman Water and Sewerage Administration). We exchanged our ideas about the benefits of the Energy Efficiency Unit and the ISO 50001 System. Representatives of Cumhuriyet Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School were with us during our visit.

3.Siirt

İMKB Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School

We made the third NEXT-GEN project visit to Siirt İMKB Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School (Gazi Anatolian High School). We completed our surveys, energy audit and measurements. We have included the students  Muhammet Emin Karaçam, Şahin Daşçı and Feyzullah Kaylı as Young Leaders of Siirt in our project. We would like to thank Ömer Pakyürek, Abdulhakim Eldemir and Harun Ceylan, who supported us from the very beginning, Uğur Budak, who is the director of the school, and school staffs.

Siirt Provincial Directorate of National Education

We visited Deniz Erdi (Siirt Provincial Director of National Education) and introduced NEXT-GEN project with our stakeholders.. We thanked them for their support of our project.

4.Şırnak

Cizre Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School

We made the fourth NEXT-GEN project visit to Cizre Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School. We completed our surveys, energy audit and measurements. We have included the students Abdulsamet Ömürlü, Selim Denlier, Nalin Dal and Muhammet Aşrak as Young Leaders of Siirt in our project. We would like to thank Çiğdem Çiçek Gökçe, İlhami Tunç, and Serhat Ersan, who supported us from the very beginning, Hasan Turgut who is the director of the school, and relevant school staffs.

Şırnak Municipality

During our visit to Şırnak Municipality, we talked with the Deputy Mayor Ömer Yılmaz and our project stakeholder Burhan Acar about the establishment of the Energy Efficiency Unit and the ISO 50001 System. Cizre Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School representatives were with us during our visit.

5.Mardin

Mardin Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School

We the fifth visit of the NEXT-GEN project to Mardin Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School. We completed our surveys, energy audit and measurements. We have included the students Yusuf Amak, Muhammet Burak Coşkun, Baran Irmak, and Yusuf Kötekoğlu as Young Leaders of Mardin in our project. We would like to thank Yavuz Balcıoğlu, Gökhan Günay and Neslihan Ceylan, who supported us from the very beginning, Zekeriya Atilla who is the director of the school, and relevant school staffs.

Mardin Aziz Sancar Anatolian High School

We completed our first stage of field visiting by visiting Aziz Sancar Anatolian High School which was selected as a control group high school for the social impact report of the NEXT-GEN, with our project stakeholder Sıtkı Ruşen Avcı from the Mardin Provincial Directorate of National Education.

NEXT-GEN PROJECT ENERGY EFFICIENCY GUIDELINE PUBLISHED FOR THE MUNICIPALITIES

A guide including the recommendations for energy efficiency has been published in the scope of NEXT-GEN project. It includes applications under following topics: Façade, Heating Systems and Boilers, Cooling Systems, Solar water Heating Systems, Photovoltaic Systems, Heat Pumps, New Generation Systems, Lighting, Electrical Devices, Electric Motors and Energy Management Systems. It is expected that the guide will be embraced across the country following the positive developments in the urban plans of 10 stakeholder municipalities. NEXT-GEN WORKSHOP (Gaziantep)

NEXT-GEN Workshop (Gaziantep)

The second NEXT-GEN Workshop, was held between the 17th and18th December in Gaziantep. The participants were the principals of the schools from 11 pilot provinces, representatives of municipalities, provincial directors and/or deputies of national education, and the representatives of Conservation, Implementation, Control and Education Bureaus (KUDEB). The first session was a panel entitled ‘’Interference between Universities, Municipalities, Industry and Vocational High Schools’’. It is moderated by MSc Architect Yasemin Somuncu, and the panelists were Prof. Dr. Pınar Mengüç (Center for Energy, Environment and Economy Director), M.Sc Architect Seda Müftüoğlu Güleç (Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Zoning Department Manager) and Serpil Serin Sefa( GASİMEP Project Coordinator). After ’’Energy Efficiency Concept, Current Situation in Turkey and in the NEXT-GEN Pilot Provinces’’ presentation was given by M.Sc Architect Yasemin Somuncu. Following, “Financial Approaches Towards to Energy Efficiency in the Next-Gen Project Provinces” was presented by Özlem Yakut and Mesut Avcı of (TURSEFF representatives). In the last session, “Energy Efficiency for Cultural Heritage Buildings and Potential of Next-Gen Project Provinces” was presented by Dr. Banu Pekol.

 

The second day of the workshop started with Gaziantep Ecological Building tour. NEED4B and BRICKER projects were presented by MSc Architect Yasemin Somuncu within the scope of best practices for energy efficient new and existing buildings, and TAMİREVİ project was presented by Architect Süreyya Topaloğlu as an example for the best practices for Cultural Heritage Buildings. “ISO 50001 Processes and Feasibilities at the Next-Gen Project Provinces” explained by Naci Işıklı, who is the board chairman of EYODER. Following the final presentation entitled “Energy Audit Processes and Feasibilities in NEXT-GEN Project Provinces” by MSc Architect Nil Kutlar, a workshop was held with the participants.
